About

Cruz constructed the annual 1.8 mile ice road/bridge across the Sagavanirktok River from Drill Site 17 to the Worley Yard Ramp. At completion the ice bridge spanned over 850’ from ramp to ramp and over 60’ wide. Original plans estimated bridge thickness at 8’-10’ overall, careful profiling and close communications with BPXA brought the necessary ice thickness up to 12’ in several of the construction zones. Extreme cold weather during the 2019-2020 season shut down production for several days, but active scheduling together with the flexibility and experience of the crew gave Cruz the ability to finish this project on time and under budget.
